A prototype currently being produced this unique take on a conventional tea set explores the sexual energy and rarely acknowledged semiotics enjoyed by a man and a woman over afternoon tea; the metaphor is achieved through the shapes of the vessels and the ceremony of the proceedings.
The pieces score the contradiction between the perceived image of England and the English as a traditional nation in love with the formality of afternoon tea and the modern reality of a society fragmented by different ideas and moral considerations resulting in a collection proven to be both fun and shocking depending on the audience’s perspective.
I’m not easily ipmrseesd. . . but that’s impressing me!
